Exciting Innovation in Road Safety: eBOOM® Technology on the Epping Road Upgrade

Industry

We are thrilled to share that ARROWES Roading Safety’s groundbreaking eBOOM® technology was featured in a recent Nine News video during its implementation on the Epping Road Upgrade. This segment provided a platform for industry experts to discuss the critical need for enhanced road safety measures.

Ehssan Veiszadeh | Roads Australia, speaking in the video, highlighted the alarming statistics: “For the last 10 years, on average, 18 road workers have lost their lives, that’s every year, and 250 workers have also been injured on the job.”

Madeline Spa | Nine News Reporter also contributed to the discussion with significant findings: “A new report from Roads Australia, a survey of 1,110 Road Industry Workers found almost 100 had been hit by a car or seen colleagues struck. 600 had been verbally or physically abused. So there are calls for new safety measures like Boom Gates.”

Our eBOOM® technology, which provides a safer work environment through a remote-operated physical barrier, was showcased as a solution to these challenges.

Ana Onofras | Epping Road Upgrade Site Engineer further explained the operational benefits of eBOOM® on site: “We do have eBOOM’s which can be operated remotely and provide a physical separation between moving traffic and traffic controllers.”

In addition to being featured in the video, we are proud to announce that our lightweight eBOOM® portable boom gate has received standalone system approval from all Australian states and New Zealand Transport! This approval is a testament to the eBOOM®’s capabilities as a standalone system, further enhancing its utility across various sectors.

We extend our gratitude to Major Road Projects Victoria, McConnell Dowell, and Nine News for showcasing this vital technology. At ARROWES Roading Safety, we are committed to leading the charge in road safety innovation.
